Hey Bean:

Have a wonderful birthday.  Your friends and fan club think you are great.

Maybe you should have some peanut butter for your birthday.  Be creative but leave the dog in the yard.

Chicago and Dublin Carol

Works for me
I had a great experience last week, traveling to Chicago to see Dublin Carol.  Actually I saw it three times figuring that since I didn't see it in Providence when it was only an hour or so away I owed it to myself to maximize my viewing.  What a great show.  Steppenwolf was modern and very comfortable for theater watching.  Our seats were excellent being in the fifth, fourth and sixth row with wonderful sight lines,  We were so close that I could have tossed him my room key if I had really wanted to.  The cast was great although Billy was so good to watch in the role of John Plunkett that it was very easy to watch him even when the other actors were speaking.  The play could be a very somber one based on the subject but there were many funny moments throughout.  The ending was very sad but hopeful that John was about to take a step towards reconciliation with his family and Billy let us feel it all.  Chicago was great too.  I hope others have as good an experience as I had.

Love those Rays

Cubs
I know a dyed in the wool Red Sox fan should not be cheering for another team but I am.  I have liked the Rays for years and wondered why they could have young talent and then lose so consistantly.   Well now the tables are turning.  I also have several friends who are big Rays fans so lets beat those Phillies.  Winning the WS is a really great experience.

Season 9 of CSI has been great so far.

End of Summer

Hey , its the end of summer and fall is just around the corner.  The Sox and Rays are in a dogfight to win the AL East but it looks to me as if both teams will make the play offs so that is cool with me.  My daughter is back at school (middle school to be exact) so now the routine includes homework and after-school activities.

It is fun to pick the Fanfiction nomination list and read all the GSR one because that is my ship and it's canon too.  There are so many great stories that it was hard to vote in some categories. Thanks to all the writers from a happy reader.

Since it is football season, I am using the WP football motif.  Doesn't he look like he could be a linebacker?

Cool Stories

arms
I thought I would try to post links to several stories that are underway.  I am seriously hooked on the two WIP's and read each update as soon as I am aware of them.  Both are on FF.net.  The first is Prisoner 4929 by Moonstarer and the second is Death1 by ProWriter11.  Both are well written and very suspenseful.  The dialogue seems true and the characters are true to form.  I also read "The Last Campaign" www.cropper1818.com through Geekfiction and really liked that too.

Monday Morning

Cubs

Well another Monday morning.  Thank god for large DD iced coffee cause it makes all the difference in getting up.  I have lots of calls for later but first I intend to cruise YTDAW to check for possible nominations for the fanfic awards.  There are so many stories written that it is easy to forget some of the neat ones done in January or late last year.  So I will be checking and then figuring how to do the linking business.

School is starting next week and now a job prospect is in sight.

I watched the season 9 promo on YouTube(link from the WPAP).  Looks interesting and raises lots of questions.  Not all the scenes are from episode 1 either.  Boy, if Billy can't get an Emmy nomination for the upcoming season there is a problem.  Didn't you love the line in "Two and a Half Deaths" about the emmy statuette (" Is that what they look like?")

Well off to wake up my daughter.

Just hanging around

Works for me

Can you believe it's already August 20?  School starts in two weeks and another summer is in the books.  My hope is for a job starting in September and a little more peace and security here.

Hey I checked out the fan fiction nominations and almost all of my choices are already there.  Now I have to use my brain and come up with alternatives.  In the past, I found that list was a great place to find good stories and it appears this year is no exception.

Hey the Red Sox are winning again and I see not with the same team that they started with in April.  Lots of injuries so hopefully they can put it together and catch some Rays or at least capture the Wild Card.  It is still my fantasy that the Cubbies and Bosox play each other in the World Series

Time to Vote

Lion King

Tonight was Arts Night at my daughter's camp.  The campers big production was the Lion King and my daughter got to play Pumbah in the next to the last scene.  The kids did a great job.  Becca was so excited that she was comfortable on stage too.  Lots of fun and imagination.

But on to some wild fiction...  YTDAW's latest mini-thread on l "Looking for a particular fic"  has listed a lot of threesome fic which are definitlly PWP.  Fortunately most have been entertaining even if OOC.

Well that's it for me. Bring me those groceries.

CSI Fanfiction Awards

Works for me
I found the notices for the upcoming 2008 nominations for fanfiction awards.   I'm very excited and plan to start working on my list of storiesfor nomination.  Last year I found the list after the fact and didn't realized how to go about being involved.  This year is different and I intend to be in the thick of it.  Now if I can just figure out how to do links and LJ cuts...

No Big Deal

Works for me
So the Red Sox traded Manny.  Any other year but this and I would have thought it's a lousy idea.  Getting a younger  outfielder with upside may have been the best way to go for Theo and the Sox.  Remember the Sox won the WS after trading Nomar to the Dodgers so maybe this bodes will for the Olde Towne Team.  I so want a Red Sox Cubs world series so I can hang around town looking for Billy Petersen.  You know he won't want to miss that.

I have been reading the results of the Blockbuster Summer Ficathon and really have enjoyed the stories.  I am always impressed at the imagination and style of the particpants.  Keep up the good work
